19 Month Progress Update

My poor, neglected blog.  I can’t believe it’s been a month since I posted last!

I’ve been keeping extremely busy.  Last week I flew out to Wisconsin to visit my family.  I’m now in Upper Michigan with my nieces so they could spend time with their grandma.  My 5 year old niece is keeping everyone busy!

Original Debt (December 14, 2012): $102,645

Current Debt (19 months later): $93,542

My debt has decreased by $59 since last month.  An overall reduction of $9,103 in 19 months.  I’m now at 8.87% of my debt payoff goal.

DEBT BREAKDOWN

Federal Student Loans $58,572  $58,782 (up $210 since last month, an overall $2882 increase over 19 months)

Private Student Loans $35,029 $34,760 (down $269 since last month, an overall decrease of $5,861 in 19 months)

  • StudentLoan#1: $3,734  $3,742 (up $8 since last month, an overall decrease of $3,418 in the past 19 months)
  • StudentLoan#2: $10,574 $10,601 (up $27 since last month, an overall decrease of $589 in 19 months)
  • StudentLoan#3: $17,197 $17,242 (up $45 since last month, an overall decrease of $998 in 19 months)
  • StudentLoan#4: $3,524 $3,174 (down $350 since last month, an overall decrease of $847 in 19 months)

Oops, I did it again…I put more towards StudentLoan#4 instead of #1.  I mixed them up because they are so close in value.  Darn it!

This month hasn’t been very good for debt repayment.  I was going to make a decent-sized payment towards my loans before I left for visiting family but completely forgot.  Oh well, next months’ update should look pretty good!
