17 Month Progress Update

Original Debt (December 14, 2012): $102,645

Current Debt (17 months later): $94,235

My debt has decreased by $1,080 since last month!  An overall reduction of $8,410 in 17 months.  I’m now at 8.19% of my debt payoff goal.

DEBT BREAKDOWN

Federal Student Loans $58,091 $58,294 (up $203 since last month, an overall $2,394 increase over 17 months)

Private Student Loans $36,459 $35,941 (down $518 since last month, an overall decrease of $4,680 in 17 months)

  • StudentLoan#1: $4,835 $4,619 (down $216 since last month, an overall decrease of $2,541 in the past 17 months)
  • StudentLoan#2: $10,599 $10,583 (down $16 since last month, an overall decrease of $617 in 17 months)
  • StudentLoan#3: $17,220 $17,207 (down $13 since last month, an overall decrease of $1,033 in 17 months)
  • StudentLoan#4: $3,805 $3,532 (down $273 since last month, an overall decrease of $489 in 17 months)

I’m really kicking myself for mistakenly putting a lot towards StudentLoan#4 instead of StudentLoan#1.

US Bank Credit Card $765 $0 (down $765 since last month, down $4,657 in 17 months, total interest paid in 17 months: $350)  GONE. DONE!   As you can see, I put a lot towards it this past month, but I just wanted it gone so I can throw all of my income at my pesky student loans.

I’m making progress! Woohoo!
